Aula Invertida Planeación

FLIPPED LEARNING

  • How will you encourage (close to) full participation of your students on the pre-class content? WSQ or a survey? A quick 1 minute video by them of their summary/questions?
While watching the video and checking the web pages students have to answer the next questions:
  1. how do we get the gerund form of a verb? examples
  2. what is the preposition used in infinitive form of verbs? examples
  3. can I get the gerund form of a noun? If so, give examples
  4. It is possible to have a gerund and an infinitive in the same sentence.  true/false
  5. Is it possible to use either gerund or infinitive after the verb like? what about the verb 'need'?                                  I like to go to the mall. /I like going to the mall./I need to go to the mall./I need going to the mall.
  6. Mention verbs that can be followed only by gerund
  7. Mention verbs that can be followed only by infinitive
  8. Mention verbs that can be followed by both infinitive and gerund

  • What are you planning to do in the classroom to actively apply the learning or dig deeper into the topic?
     0. The teacher gives feedback and clears all doubts that students may have from the pre-class activity.
  1. Students will complete the script of an interview; on it, they have to check if they need gerund of infinitive form –according to the preceding verb-.
  2. Students get in teams of 3 people to check and discuss their answers.
  3. Then, we listen to the interview and they check for their answers.
  4. Finally, students will prepare a news show reporting a relevant incident in their city. They will have to use at least 10 different verbs from the resources provided on the pre-class activity. Students record their shows, post the videos on youtube and post the evidence on their portfolio.

  • How are you going to evaluate the activity afterwards? As appropriate you could be testing learning of skills/knowledge and/or a survey of their reflection/opinion on this type of learning environment.
I will grade:
  1. The pre-class questionnaire.
  2. Interview script.
  3. Posting on their blogs (e-portfolio): video and reflection.

  • Your reflection on the process. This can be as short or long as you like and of course will not happen until after this course is over. Just record your experience for your benefit and for others perhaps.
I wrote the first paragraphs of this posting as my reflection on the process.

My final reflection on Flipped Learning:
