The ethic is one f the things that makes the human being diferent of the animals and also this hability of feel empathy to others persons have allowed progres of course we are humans and we are not perfects and nobody is asking for it but it is importat to remember that we have to be betters every day and don´t be stupid monkeys figthing betwen us.
Everything in the life have a code the doctors have a code even the lawyers have a code although it doesn´t seem so why the people that writte code in a computer shouldn´t have a code? Of course there are a code of ethic in software engineering it is composed by 8 principles.
1. PUBLIC – Software engineers shall act consistently with the public interest:
- This means that no matter how much you hate the society you have to create things thinking on them you can´t do something that hurts people also you have to think in the persons that have disabilities like Guitar hero that have a color-blind mode.
2. CLIENT AND EMPLOYER – Software engineers shall act in a manner that is in the best interests of their client and employer consistent with the public interest:
- Here you are between the sword and the wall you have to please to your boss and the client this is difficult because you boss only see the client as money and the client see the company as a monster hungry of money here you have to find the balance.
3. PRODUCT – Software engineers shall ensure that their products and related modifications meet the highest professional standards possible:
- This is easy just don´t deliver garbage
4. JUDGMENT – Software engineers shall maintain integrity and independence in their professional judgment:
- Stay away from illicit activities and things that that can be illegal or antithetical
5. MANAGEMENT – Software engineering managers and leaders shall subscribe to and promote an ethical approach to the management of software development and maintenance:
- This is easy to be the leader that you want to you
6. PROFESSION – Software engineers shall advance the integrity and reputation of the profession consistent with the public interest.
- We have told you already stay away from illicit and antithetical activities
7. COLLEAGUES – Software engineers shall be fair to and supportive of their colleagues.
- No just be the leader that you want also be the colleague that you want
8. SELF – Software engineers shall participate in lifelong learning regarding the practice of their profession and shall promote an ethical approach to the practice of the profession.
- Be better every day you don´t know everything there always new things to learn improve yourself.
