Course Review

13ma2s

What do I think about the course, well this is amazing because Ken evaluates you by letting you evaluate yourself; how does this works, well in order to learn you need to search on the internet and ask your classmates around on how to solve problems. Ken told us that he wasn’t going to lecture us like every other class, that he wanted us to learn on ourselves. I wanted to say that this is the best course I have ever taken, because you measure your own intelligence by asking yourself how good have you been doing during, have you been doing all the assignments, and quizes. Also in order to grade ourselves we must create a blog post for each work we work on. My conclusion is that I think this way to teach might not work on everyone but on some of us who don’t like to depend on others, just on ourselves it’s a good way to learn; also it is said that students won’t attend to class if they can’t fail by not going to class, I was there everyclass and most students were always there, also when the class was over, many of us stayed later in order to end the assignments for the day. “IN KEN WE TRUST”

Flipped learning WSQ04

Hello my friends!! Today I´m going to talk about a little bit about flipped learning and what I think about it.

First of all, the flipped learning (as the name suggest) is different than the usual method of learning, in the flipped learning method you don’t have pressure and you have to learn by yourself, the pressure is as much as you want, I will leave some videos and links with more information:

In my opinion (and experience) I think is a good method, in fact I think is better than the usual method, but you need to be very responsable, because the teacher won’t teach you, yeah probably the teacher will help when you don’t understand, but the flipped learning is learning by your self, that is ok, I guess.

Ok ok, I know I’m a little late… well, very late to be posting this WSQ, but the point is to do it and learn while doing it right? There are no due dates 🙂 . After watching the video a I got a little excited. That seriously looks like a better way of learning. The Tec should apply that method of watching the lesson at home and then solving questions in class. I think there is a a bright future ahead with learning processes. In ken’s class it might seem like he isn’t teaching you anything but in fact he is doing just what he needs to do. I have learned so much in his class even though he only gave us one lecture (the first day of class), it’s surprising.

From the three links that ken gave us, I think the one that I liked the most was this one An A+ student regrets his grades because what he says is so true. I don’t want to brag but over the years I too have gotten good grades and to be honest I don’t remember a lot of the things that I saw in previous classes. Lets be straight you don’t  need to be smart to get good grades, you don’t need to know the information. All you need is some imagination and “maña” to get into your professors head. I personally hate History class and believe I got good grades in that class but I hardly remember even who Benito Juarez is. I don’t even remember what I did to ace that class.

On the other hand there is science. I love science, I kind of a nerd because I remember studying math and chemistry all by myself when I was little. The first semester at the
