Welcome!

Now that we got the formalities out of the way, let’s get started. This course will probably be like no other course you have participated in and we all will be learning from each other.

Things you need to Setup

You will need to setup the following to get going in the course:

  1. Register a user account for this Blog so you can comment, do quizzes and other activities. Remember to use your @itesm.mx address for your email when registering.
  2. Setup a Twitter account
  3. Setup a GitHub account
  4. Create some form of Blog. I really recommend Known but you can use WordPress, Blogger or pretty much any blogging software that provides an RSS feed. I also highly recommend you create a blog dedicated to this course but we can work around that with the right tags/category on an existing blog.
  5. You need to make at least one post on that blog (or post with the right tag/category if using an existing blog).
  6. Once you have all of that you should be set to register all of that with me via the form on this course hub or just click that “Register Blog” menu item at the top of this blog.

Questions?

If you have questions, please contact me. You can find Ken’s social media contacts at the bottom of any of these pages or you can find more contact information on my faculty web page.

You can read about why I’m moving my courses to WordPress on my Known site.

The plumbing and setup of this course is inspired by the documentation from Alan Levine.

Students will be required to setup their own blogs (I will probably require WordPress, Blogger or Known), a GitHub repository and a Twitter account.

Stay tuned for the fun.

Hmm.
