Wrap It Up

This Flopped-Classroon course has resulted very interesting, and at the same time, has inspired me to explore new activities and methodologies to obtain better learning results in my students. It enphasizes the importance of identifying the areas or topics that do require a close tutorial or close up with the teacher, and those which the student can obtain by themselves, given the specific material needed. This enables not only for the teacher to have more free time to address specific aspects with individual students but also to carry out other activities in the classroom that can be beneficial for the whole class.
Before, ost fo the time in class was consumed in the teacher explaining, and probably, many specific topics were left behind, due to the limited time for each course. On the other hand, the use fo the flipped classrooms allows for the teacher to be able to plan activities in class that do require their close supervision or can help the students develop their specific abilities and not lose time in an explanation for the whole class, specially if this topic has been already understood by some of them.
The class time becomes available for specific activities. The extra-class time can be taken advantage of to fulfill better results in student´s learning and level of expertice.
I strongly recomend the students to try it out. From my personal experience, flipping a classroom can be intimidating at the beginning. But as most things, once you get started, its harder not to continue doing it, specially once you have experienced the extra time available for in-class work. The course organization can change in a way the students can be focused in more detailed and sensitive topics and abilites, and left to do on their own, the tasks that do not requiere close coaching.
It has been a reasuring experince that our students can learn easily on their own. Also that they appreciate the teacher taking time to be close to one another and explain on a one to one basis if needed.
