Premortem 2

My first premortem was not really accurate but I hope this one is better. This week I am going to focus on the web interface. I have to do that but that job depends on other’s work and I am not good talking to others. I know I have to overcome that but it is kind of difficult. I also want to investigate how unit tests are done for web interfaces and I think that is enough for this week.

At the beginning of this week I wrote a premortem analysis. I tried to plan what I was going to work on. I did little of what I wrote but I did some other things that I will explain in this postmortem.

The first thing I did was creating a logo for our project, I never thought we neded one but my team wanted to have one so I made it. Then I did a research with Martell, one of the team members, we did not find anything specific about the optimal conditions for a plant, but we had a beter idea of which sensors we should use. We also came up with the idea of making our plant tweet periodically about its state.

Martell is going to be in charge of the Raspberry and sensors thing but since I am the member who has worked more with it I oriented him a little and lent him my Raspberry and sensor kit.

I could not write any code for the web interface because there was work that needed to be done first. But I did mockups so I can make sure that my team is going to agree on the design that I want to make.

After writing this I noticed that I am really bad estimating. I hope this class helps me become a better estimator or at least become aware of that I am not.

Premortem 1

This is the first time that I do a premortem analysis so I think that my postmortem is going to be different from this first plan. I want to make a basic web interface with no connection with the DB but with all the other functionalities and the design. I also want to have the Raspberry and the sensors all set and I want to know how to read the values and maybe do a little research about the appropriate values for a specific plant.
