DAY V Ernesto at #iTecGDA

--Originally published at Ernesto at #itecgda

Today we had a litle workshop about video editing with a proffesor of Communications here at campus. We were required to do a little video editing practice. We could do it in teams, so I teamed up with Diego Nateras Ponce. You can see our work here.

After that, we had an online session with two amazing women from Canada, one transmittig directly from Ontario, and the other from the US.

Today I did participate, I asked them about the news of an Italian woman who had commited suicide because of a sex tape. I asked them about what should people involved in that kind of situation do to get out of it.

They said that now is possible to ask Google to delete your stuff from the Internet. They also suggested to denounce this kind of situations, in order to try to make them stop. They said that the best thing you can do is to try to publish yourself a lot of positive stuff, in order to try to bury the bad stuff.

However, after a week of Digital Idenity course, we know that it is impossible to delete stuff from the web. So, my advice would be to hang on, and survive. People will eventually forget (I hope).

PENSAMIENTOS Y AGRADECIMIENTOS FINALES

DAY IV Ernesto at #iTecGDA

Today we had an online interview with a woman from Cairo´s American University. It was already evening in Egypt, and she was at her house, with her children talking to her. She seemed to be a really kind and loving person, and I´m happy she talked to us.

A lot of people had questions for her.

Before this, we had to decide what videos to bring for the next day´s session.

DAY II Ernesto at #iTecGDA

Today was an interesting day. We had two online meetings with experts in different fields, however all related to the subject of #iTecGDA.

They were really nice to us, even though there was so many of us. People participated, but today I did not participate.

We had to take some pictures of the stuff that we like, around campus. I took some pictures, which are embedded here.

Some of the thinks that I like are music (both playing and listening to, specially Blues), history, global affairs, technology, excercising, mountain biking, paleonthology, archeology, animal behavior, traveling, beer, coffee, having a good time with friends or family, video games, board games, walking my dogs and knowledge.

About the stuff that I could improve, probably many things. I mean, we all can improve EVERY aspect of our lives, from the way we walk to the way we treat others, going through how we think. But for me, I think there are some thinks than need to be taken care of before others. Those things are:

  • Organization
  • Responsability
  • Kindness

Those are the things I can think of that could and will be improved in my life.

Tomorrow will be a better day, I will be better prepared and with a better attitude.

DAY I Ernesto at #iTecGDA

--Originally published at Ernesto at #itecgda

Hello!

Today, we had an online session with Dave Cormier (Twitter @davecormier), professor at UPEI, up in Canada’s east coast. We talked about digital identity security, and we had the opportunity to ask him questions. He is a nice and funny guy.

He mentioned a lot about how our ways of life become each and everyday more dependent on the Internet, from our social interactions to the way we pay our taxes. Something really interesting that he mentioned was that the Internet is not a transitional technology, like CDs and USB converters, it is here to stay.

We also had to write about ourselves, who we are, what we like and stuff like that. It´s always a good idea to reflect on who we are, at least once in a while.

You can check the session here. I actually had a question for Dave.

So far so good.

How many lifes do we have? Should we control our digital life?

Cheers to UPEI from the other side of the continent…
