Day 1:
I learned about Digital Identity and the important key concepts I would like to share:

Leadership which is key, you have to be a leader in life and show it everywhere including the Internet.

Finding things that you love, in my case I am doing a blog about my daily life, goals, and how I try to achieve.

Positive, being positive about everything, being positive brings happiness and that is what I want to share in this blog.

Day 2:

We had an activity about expressing ourselves and explaining five things we like. five things we would like to improve, and five things nobody knows about us.
So the 5 things I like are:
– Golf
– Soccer
– Accounting and Finance
– My personality
– Sleeping
From these I’d like to share three main things I love which are:

Golf: I love golf given the fact that it takes out your real personality, and it is the most relaxing sport of them all.

Soccer: I play soccer since I was 4 years old, it was the sport where I got to spend more time with my dad when I was little because he took me to every single game, and he loved watching me. We talked about soccer every weekend, watch it together and even some times played it together, this is my childhood favorite sport which I still play but not as much as before.

Accounting and Finance: I just like accounting and finance because it is what I grew up listening to, my dad is an accountant so I got to hear lots of his conversations regarding his work and deals or meetings, and I got very interested so I gave it a try in high school and really liked it, it wasn’t difficult at all so now I am studying a bachelor in accounting and finance.

The 5 things I would like to improve are:
– Blogging
– Being Organized
– Studying
– Golf
– Going Out

From these things I want to point out two main things I’d lie to improve:

Blogging: I enter this course not knowing I had to blog, I really thought it was more about creating difficult stuff in the computer, but when I got here I realized it was all about creating a digital identity, which I really wanted to do long time ago and never got the chance or gut to do it, so this is something I would like to improve.

Being Organized: For something that my close ones know me is for not being organized, so since this semester not even this year, since this semester I’ve tried to be more organized, because organization is a key to success and I’ve seen it in close friends of mine who had become better students and better persons by the only fact of being organized.

Five things that no one knows about me, or at least not many people knows about me are:
– I was born here
– I can’t get fatter
– I am openminded
– I am shy
– I would love to live in San Diego, Ca.
There is one main point I’d like to share which is being shy:

– I am shy: Being shy is something not many people know about me because I am not shy at all with my friends obviously, but for me it is very difficult to make friends from scratch, I am not good at going to people and start a conversation, but if someone comes at me and starts the conversation I am easy to hang out with. This is just something I have to work on, but who knows what the world will bring.

Now, talking about the conferences, in the first conference what I learned is that in blogging and in life every ones in a while something will click. You don’t have to have brilliant ideas every single day, but once in while everything will connect and makes sense and have a purpose. Also, this quote: “Identity is who you are; presence is how you behave”, this again applies in life and in digital identity, you don’t have to change who you are just because you are behind a screen, express yourself, and be yourself because that is the way people will catch you, and will notice you, your presence is how you behave so do what you love, and do what you are use to do, even in blogging, blog about what you love, what you do so everyone can notice how you really are.

In the second conference by Alan Levine and Amy Burvall what I noticed was the difference between them. The have two very different personalities, and if you see their blogs they reflect their personality, so this blogs of mine pretty much reflect how am I, the way I publish them, the pictures the order, etc. this is who I am. Some things they said that catch my attention were “social media is a stream… it’s all about the now”; again, relating this to life it’s all about the today, forget the past and live the present, also in golf, the next shot is the most important, and the other quote is “it’s not about the work, but how you do it, how you explain where your ideas came from” which for me meant that every blog, every work in your professional life it means more when you express yourself in it, your work represents your reputation so you have to do every single paper and every single work like you were presenting yourself.

Finally I would like to share a meme about what today’s session was about.

Day 3:

Today it was a very different day at Tec, it wasvery hard to get up from bed in the morning but got the strength to do so. Thankfully I did, we had an amazing conference by Autum Caines, Bonnie Stewart and Sundi Richard, it was again about digital presence but it was specified in the way we use internet. They made a graph dividing this concept in four which where: Visitor, Personal, Professional, and Residence. Visitor meant something you do visit but not as much or just don’t pay that much of attention to it, this is the contrary of resident which is the one the you visit and you pay attention and do something with it. Professional is the social media you do use for your work or projects, finally personal is the social media that you are not afraid of showing any stuff at all. So I did my graph which looks like this:

Now, key concepts I got from where:

“Old people don’t get this stuff” referring to technology and how it has improved offer the years. Old generations are not used to this new technologies so we, the new generations have to help them.
“The internet is made by people, that makes the idea of presence”. I have never thought about this, it is so true! A human being invented the internet so he could help society express themselves in a digital way, so that’s how we have to take it, this is expressed by “Online = People”.

Being present in something creates opportunity but not if approached as a visitor. As I explained before visitor is basically not caring so, I always say… big opportunities don’t come pretty often, so you have to take them and take advantage of them.

With all this said, I want to share a video of me interviewing to friends about today’s course topic:

Finally Ken (my course teacher) said something that really got to my mind. “LEARNING IS WHAT YOU DO TO GET TO THE FINAL PROJECT, IT DOESN’T MATTER IF THE FINAL DELIVERY IS GOOD OR BAD IF THE JOURNEY WAS OBSOLETE”, he mentioned the word “Journey” which I can relate with my blog’s name “Kuan’s Journey”. I agree with Ken, my journey to my goal would not mean nothing if I don’t give my 100%.
